Teacher Loan Forgiveness (TLF)

The Department of Education (ED)'s TLF Program offers loan forgiveness of up to $17,500 for teachers in certain specialties and up to $5,000 for other teachers who teach for five years in low-income schools and meet other requirements.     If you wish to apply for this program you will need to complete the borrower section of the application form and have the chief administrator of your school certify it for you.     Teacher Loan Forgiveness Forbearance
    If you have not been working for five consecutive complete academic years as a full-time teacher you can apply for a forbearance to temporarily delay principal payments while you perform qualifying service. You can download this application form or request to have one sent to you by mail. Please send your completed application to us at the address provided above.
